about

Saudade is a song written about my study abroad experience and subsequent numerous adventures to Brazil.

This song was recorded on the stage of Foellinger Auditorium at the University of Illinois during the Summer of 1993, with no audience present.

lyrics

In my spare time
I read your letters
I write you back
But I know it’s not a recreation, to be inside your head

Simple Gestures
With empty motives
I threw around
And I lost myself with these expressions, until you had me found

When the air is cold
It’s missing from my soul
Could he be so kind
To let me be with mine

Saudade
Still enforcing
Thoughts of mine
But my memories often seem, to have a short lifetime

Until the air gets warm
I’m caught up in this storm
Without any worry
That you and I will be

Believe my insides
Leave my foresights
Until forever
And I close my eyes from these ambitions, that were once all I had

Now the air is cold
And I need some sol
So prescious was the time
When illusions were in my mind
